A review of Sein Und Werden Volume 1 #4 Spring 2007

The print magazine Sein Und Werden comes to its audience as a chapbook style stapled 7 by 8.5 inch black and
white publication. Its absence of colour is made up for by the graphic, bizarre and erotic content of its
short fiction. The stories are edgy and suspenseful; one populated by a pedophile whose dark perverse mind
invades the reader's psyche in "Pause Pause Pause On and On" by J. A. Tyler. Mark Howard Jones describes an
unknown victim bandaged and restrained who searches for the truth of his existence.
Even the poetry has sharp edges, broken glass, shards, a sense of imprisonment, dark perversion And Foreboding.
Another story, "Truth Be Told" by Ralph Robert Moore, by far the best effort, brings the characters alive in an
erotic , sexual fantasy among a man, a woman and her hermaphrodite lover. The dialogue is believable, gripping
and certainly titillating in the extreme. "Knifepoint Philosophy" by D. Richard Scannel is lyrically tongue
in cheek and equally as believable as two characters, a mugger and his victim dialogue their way into a
relationship. In addition "The Pomegranate Girl" by Christopher Morris presents a new angle on the love
triangle revenge story.
If you are looking for a magazine that is out on the fringe where the surreal and the bizarre are commonplace,
read Sein Und Werden at least once. Also you may wish to visit their online site
