Join us at one of the most remote regions of Canada's Northwest Territories & Nunavut!
Led by qualified naturalists, biologists and/or photographer trip-leaders, our unique Arctic wildlife photography expeditions are designed to offer the very best photo opportunities, while encountering animals in their natural habitat. We accomplish this in a non-harassing and highly ethical manner. If you would like to learn more about our field ethics - click here. On-site aircraft support and first rate mobile tent camps allow flexibility to move where the animals are! |
Our work begins a few weeks prior to each season, when we spend many hours flying aerial reconnaissance and initiating overland explorations to find the best den sites, grazing areas, and natural water crossings. |
Once the sites are decided, we set up quality base camps using Hansen Waterproof Quonset-hut vinyl buildings, North Face Expedition tents, or a combination of both. At some sites, we are able to utilize existing facilities. Thus, we are always situated in the best possible area for wildlife exposure that conditions allow. These unique adventures begin when our clients make thier own way to the remote Dene' aboriginal settlement of Lutsel K'e, NWT, located on the East Arm of Great Slave Lake - an area soon slated to become Canada's newest & largest National Park. Sounds difficult to get to? Not at all - Lutsel K'e is accessed by a choice of daily flights from Yellowknife, the capital city of the NWT. Click here to learn more about how to get us - including maps. |
On the first day of each expedition departure, participants then board a charter aircraft in Lutsel K'e, NWT to fly an addtional 120 airmiles / 200 kilometers to past the tree-line to the remote Arctic wilderness at our main wildlife basecamp on the upper Thelon River, NWT. There, comfortable tent quonset accommodations, a hot meal & friendly expert field greet you upon arrival - ready to take you on one of the most incredible wildlife adventures ever!

Each 'Dance' provides part-time aircraft support for on-going aerial reconnaissance or should a medical emergency arise. If the animals should move, or thin out too much, we can move with them! After all, the camps are mobile and we have an aircraft to move them. Often when the aircraft is in camp, extra airtime can be purchased on a per-hour basis for additional sightseeing, aerial photography or access to nearby wildlife 'hotspots' and hiking areas. |
Our wildlife programs are suitable for all ages in moderate physical condition. You can expect day hikes of three to five km over easy terrain, carrying a day pack and your own camera gear. Most base camps gave a capacity of 12 persons plus the trip leaders and field staff. Wildlife ‘stalks’ for photography are usually undertaken with 3-5 people per leader |
