NET PERCENTAGE STRUCTURE: Our reservation structure is as it is because on most of our Arctic field trips, we require extensive aircraft charters from local companies that do not provide a commission. These air charter costs are built into our retail rates - and on an average - they make up 1/2 of the over-all trip costs. This nominal cost for charter aircraft includes access to and from the field from Yellowknife, NWT, and also for any on-site aircraft kept at the camps for reconnaissance and emergency use. Air charter costs as of 2005 & 2006 average to $1950.00 USD or $2,415.00 CDN per person per seat. Remote field logistics, the 'backing up' of charter aircraft so that they are loaded in both directions, the safety of Arctic operations & the wildlife environmental ethics of Eco-tourism all demand that we keep strict control of all flights to these remote and sensitive Arctic areas. Therefore, all charter aircraft coming to our camps must be purchased through us, except by special pre-arrangement. The percentage we pay is relevant to our actual field rates / ground rates (without air charter seats applied), and is 25%.
TAXES: As of 2007, 6.0% Canadian Good & Services Tax (GST) must beapplied to all bookings - either domestic or foreign.
GROUP INCENTIVES: We offer the following additional incentives to tour companies & group organizers: -with six paying clients booked on one departure, we offer one free trip leader seat (the seventh) to your company/organization at no cost from Lutsel K'e, NWT. -with ten or more paying clients booked on one departure, we offer two free trip leader seats to your company/organization at no cost from Lutsel K'e, NWT.
SELLING TOOLS: We would be pleased to assist you in your sales efforts by providing tools such as photos, slides, posters, media, and write-ups: Please contact us with your request.
SCOUTING TRIPS: You may also send someone to come and scout our destinations for 50% off the retail rate on certain departures.
LARGER GROUPS / PRIVATE GROUPS: Special large-group departures, & private trips can be arranged and negotiated. Please contact us.
CAPACITIES: We are a small group facility, and we only will accommodate 14 on most wildlife and fishing trips, and up to 15 for special functions.
PAYMENT TERMS: We require a $1,000.00 per person non-refundable deposit per person per week to secure space, with the balance due 60 days prior to departure. The balance amount is also non-refundable, but is transferable to another person or to another trip or season - less the initial deposit amount, and only when accompanied by with a second deposit.
PAYMENT OPTIONS: We will accept VISA cards for the initial deposit. Final payments however, are best paid by business check via courier, or by bank wire transfer. Please contact us at the time, and we will provide detailed instructions for either method.
CLIENT LEGAL REQUIREMENTS: All clients attending our tours must fill out important emergency contact information, provide some health & diet details, and endorse a waiver. This reservation form / waiver can be viewed, downloaded and printed off in PDF format by clicking here.
CLIENT PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Click here to learn about the physical expectations for clients on our basecamp & camp-based fishing trips. For physical expectations on our canoe & kayak expeditions, please go to the webpage specific for each trip.
CUSTOMER TRAVEL: Yellowknife (YZF) can be reached by daily commercial jet service from Edmonton, Alberta (YEG). Three airlines, First Air, Canadian North Airlines and Air Canada Jazz compete on this run.Our clients are eligible for special airfares for the Edmonton-Yellowknife leg. We are negotiating this rate for 2007 now, so you should contact us for these special rates before booking your clients air tickets.
