Three economical do-it-yourself options to see and experience the vast Arctic barrenlands of the Canadian Northwest Territories!

You are truly on your own, at one of the most isolated regions on earth! 

For do-it-yourself adventurers, we offer to set your party of two or four persons by floatplane & boat to a remote esker tent-camp far out on the NWT tundra at the Thelon / Eileen River headwaters areas, near the Nunavut boundary.

We will supply the basic food which you will prepare yourselves; all tents and related equipment; watercraft, all air charter flights; plus the maps and pre-trip information you will need to safely explore the area!  Communications with the outside world is maintained by satellite telephone.

As these are very remote areas, we recommend that one or more in the party has previous Arctic camping experience.

TUNDRA ESKERS OPTION #1:
SouthCamp Outpost - Whitefish Lake, NWT

(Thelon River headwaters)

Our comfortable little cabin is nestled hidden in a sheltered sand esker bay along the shores of Laroque Bay of immense Whitefish Lake - the true headwaters of the Thelon River.

You can fish all you want here for world-class lake trout and Arctic grayling (catch & release except for which you eat). The larger esker ponds and small lakes nearby often have BIG northern pike!

The Thelon River outlet is also only a few miles away from the outpost for incredible exploring, and world-class Arctic grayling fishing with ultra-light or fly rod equipment!

We also supply the food - frozen meats and fresh vegetables - which we provide at the camp in coolers kept in permafrost holes dug for the purpose. There is an outhouse on site. We also provide a satellite telephone at the camp for communication to the main base camp, or to the 'outside world'. We offer a 14' aluminum boat with an outboard motor and 20 gallons of mixed gas; a canoe (or kayak) & paddles.

You supply your own sleeping bag, personal items including soap and towels; your NWT fishing license; fishing rods, reels and lures; transportation to and accommodations in Lutsel K'e, NWT.

TUNDRA ESKERS OPTION #2:
'Camp & Kayak'

on the Garde River & Whitefish Lake, NWT

Our comfortable little Garde River tent camp is nestled on a beautiful sheltered sandy esker along the shores of Snoopy Bay, near the Garde River Inlet to Whitefish Lake - the true headwaters of the Thelon River.

On this do-it-yourself camping trip, we supply the food - frozen meats and fresh vegetables - which we provide at the camp in coolers kept in permafrost holes dug for the purpose.

We also provide a satellite telephone at the camp for communication to the main base camp, or to the 'outside world'. We provide a double kayak for very two persons, with skirts & paddles.

This package is also a self-guided, do-your-own-cooking plan. We will supply the 120 air mile charter flight from Lutsel K'e, NWT, all your pre-packaged meals, a first aid kit; and marked lake charts.

We also supply quality expedition tents (one for every two persons), ground sleeping pads, a screened kitchen tent, and all the cooking utensils and staples needed to comfortably cook and feed four persons.

You and your private group will be based from this beautiful, isolated and protected little tent camp for eight days, after which you picked up by boat & float aircraft, and returned back to Lutsel K'e.

You will truly be alone at one of the most remote locations on earth!

TUNDRA ESKERS OPTION #3: 'Camp & Canoe'

on Norwegian Lake - Eileen River, NWT

Norwegian Lake Canoe camp is located on the Eileen River , NWT. -This remote region and lake is situated on the tree-line, 110 air miles east of Lutsel K'e, or 220 air miles NE of Yellowknife, NWT, Canada.

On this do-it-yourself camping trip we also supply the food - frozen meats and fresh vegetables - which we provide at the camp in coolers kept in permafrost holes dug for the purpose.

We also supply quality expedition tents (one for every two persons), ground sleeping pads, a screened kitchen tent, and all the cooking utensils& staples needed to comfortably cook and feed four persons.

We also provide a satellite telephone at the camp for communication to the main base camp, or to the 'outside world'. We provide a Old Town canoe for very two persons, with paddles.

This package is also a self-guided, do-your-own-cooking plan. We will supply the 120 air mile charter flight from Lutsel K'e, NWT, all your pre-packaged meals, a first aid kit; and marked lake charts.
